Welcome to PACCD.org

The Parkway Parent Advisory Council for Children with Disabilities (PACCD) is a volunteer parent organization of the Parkway School District much like a Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). We are here for parents of students with special needs, to offer them assistance and represent their needs to school district committees.

PACCD is made up of volunteer representatives from every school in the district. From these building representatives, a steering committee is elected on an annual basis. PACCD was originally formed in the early 90´s from the union of 3 parent groups each working to improve inclusion for students with special needs. The group´s existence and name was formalized as a result of a lawsuit now known as the Merry Settlement. We welcome any parent of a child with a disability who would like to be part of our group.

In St. Louis County there is a dual system for special education. In most cases, students receive special education services from the staff of Special School District of St. Louis County (SSD) and all other education services from the staff of Parkway School District.
